Resistance Exercise Metabolism Pushups And Pushup Workouts

Resistance exercise naturally speeds up your metabolism and pushups are one of the simplest and most effective ways to get good resistance exercise anytime, any place.

Your METABOLIC SET POINT is the number of calories it takes for you to maintain your current body composition in the exact muscle to fat ratio you have right now.

Muscle burns calories.  Stored fat burns no calories.  So the more muscle you have the more calories you burn naturally throughout the day even while resting.

Lean muscle mass begins to decline steadily after age 30.  Unless you take specific steps to stop that decline, by age 65 you will have lost 25% to 30% (or more) of the lean muscle mass and the strength you had in your 20s.  And yes, this can be avoided.

One reason people tend to gain a few pounds each year after about age 30 is that unless you take specific steps to stop lean muscle mass from declining, lean muscle does decline, leaving you with LESS calorie-burning muscle and MORE non-calorie burning fat.

Having less lean muscle causes you to burn fewer calories and if you burn fewer calories and continue eating like you always have, then of course you will gain weight.

Bottom line – Unless you exercise to MAINTAIN or INCREASE your lean muscle, you’ll probably gain weight every year. However, if you take steps to increase your lean muscle, as lean muscle increases, your body transforms into a high efficiency, high-energy, calorie-burning machine.

RESISTANCE EXERCISE is an important key to burning fat, staying strong, feeling great, and looking years younger than you could ever look without the health-enhancing benefits of exercise.

  • Pushups are one of the best resistance exercises and if you have a floor or some ground to stand on, you have everything you need to do a pushup.

The following videos give you instruction on how to do pushups correctly and show a wide variety of pushup exercises you can begin immediately to build lean muscle, burn fat, increase your strength, stimulate the release of human growth hormone from your pituitary gland and improve your health in every way measurable.  Enjoy, and be sure and check out my book 5 Steps To Optimal Health to learn every diet, nutrition and lifestyle tip you need to GET IN THE BEST HEALTH OF YOUR LIFE.
